Scan, then review

OCR-assisted capture

OCR-assisted capture helps extract text from documents while keeping the auditor in control.

Step by step

Open OCR from document reference context

Checklist document reference capture can open Scan with OCR.

Select the red-zone capture area

The OCR flow is built around targeted zones, so the user captures the relevant text instead of an entire messy page.

Review extracted text

The Review OCR text screen shows the extracted text by zone.

Correct before appending

The auditor can edit the extracted text before choosing Append reviewed OCR.

Store reviewed text only

OCR text is appended only after red-zone selection and human review.

What makes it useful

  • OCR speeds up document reference capture without removing human judgment.
  • The app shows how many reviewed OCR captures are stored.
  • The final appended text can include labels such as reference number, title, version, or effective date depending on the selected zones.

What this helps prevent

Blind copy-paste errors, unreviewed OCR text, and document references that are too vague to be useful.
